Croutons are not only good for salads. They are a great way to pick up juices from roasted chicken or a good foundation for a panzanella salad.

Everyone loves bread. Toasted bread is even better. That's basically what croutons are: Toasted bread. I like to use sourdough bread for croutons but any kind of hearty bread can work.
Croutons are one way to get some added crunch to your salads. But I will often eat these croutons as a side or anytime I need some savory bread. Why not? It's already deliciously seasoned.
Homemade Garlic Croutons
Makes 3 Cups
Ingredients
3 Cups of Sourdough bread cubes about 1/2 - 1 inch squares
2 - 3 Tbsp Olive oil, good quality
3 Cloves Garlic, minced
1/2 Cup Fresh Parsley, minced
Salt & Pepper, to season
Steps
Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
In a large bowl, combine olive oil, garlic, and parsley with bread cubes. Season with salt and pepper.
Spread seasoned breadcrumbs on a baking pan. Bake for 15 - 20 minutes until browned and toasted. Stir halfway through baking time.
Once browned, remove from oven. Allow to cool. Can be served warm or cooled and kept in an airtight container for up to 1 week.
