I love being outside in nature but I can't stand bugs... especially bugs that bite. The smells of these candles that are also cute enough to stand as table decorations will help to keep away mosquitoes.
There are quite a few scents that repel mosquitoes and other insects. Misquitos can ruin your outdoor activities and dining so I'm giving a few tips on how to make the most of your outdoor time.
Lavender
Citronella
Lemongrass
Eucalyptus
Rosemary
Basil
Catnip
Peppermint
If you're the type to spend lots of time in your backyard, those are some plants that will make your stay outside much more enjoyable. What's even better is that they look and smell pretty.
I'll often use essential oils dropped in water as a table decorations. It gives off a nice scent but also does double duty. When I put it in a clear jar or mason glass, I'll add in sprigs of rosemary to make it look meaningful and pretty and will top it with a floating candle. Now I have function and decor.
You can use any combination of essential oils and/herbs listed above. I filled my mason jar with a couple of sprigs rosemary, water, and a few drops of lemongrass essential oil. Then I topped it with a floating candle. You can do this in a shallow bowl as well. Whatever works for your table.
It's pretty and functional! That's just what I need to spend more time outside with friends and family.
