This side dish comes together so quickly. It's flavorful. I prepare it often. It's great to special occasions and everyday. I use anchovy paste to get in some umami flavor and a squeeze of lemon juice at the end to make sure the dish is bright.
Broccolini is one of those veggies that is great when plain broccoli just won't do. Broccolini has a milder flavor than broccoli.
When I'm preparing to cook the broccolini, I make sure to trim off the woody ends. Those stalky ends just never get tender. The last thing you want is to be chewing and chewing something ridiculous.
I use anchovy paste in this recipe to bring in some umami flavor to this sautéed broccolini dish. The anchovy paste is needed to make this side dish great. If you want to keep the dish vegetarian, you can add in some fresh herbs like basil or marjoram.
